Hi lovely people.
I just want to encourage you all in your battles. Your defeats and victories.
My Mum is an alcoholic and has been quite bad since I was 10 years old.
It's certainly had an affect on me but the thing is it has tuned into a very positive one.
It was because of Mums problem that I really truly found God.
It is because of alcohol that I can tell you that I know how painful it is for you. The frustration and the anger and the despair. The highs and lows that are like a roller coaster ride. The isolation you feel and how no one could possibly understand how insanely difficult it is to hold yourself back when that terrible urge comes. The agitation you feel when you want to drink so bad but at the same time you don't want to see another bottle or cask again.
Hang in there. You aren't alone. It isn't your fault and it isn't your choice to have this fight on your hands. However I do urge you to keep fighting. Don't give up. Even if you slip you can always start again. It's not over.
People are on your side. God Himself is on your side if you want to believe it.
This is what I believe...
I believe God loves you even when you're ready to yet your hair out.
I believe God loves you even when you are totally catatonic and covered in vomit.
I believe God loves you when people reject you and misunderstand you.
I believe God wants to give you the strength of His Spirit to help you battle this illness.
I believe God wants to lift you up and give you a new beginning.
Most importantly I believe God wants to give you hope.
All you have to do is trust Him and give Him permission.
You can take this or leave it but I pray that this message ministers to you.
If it encourages you to keep on keeping on then fantastic!
If it encourages you to go deeper in your relationship with God brilliant!
If it helps you in some way to FIND God then praise His Holy Name!
In conclusion... I love you all. Keep going! You'll get there!
