  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello i'm fairly new here and i'm starting to like this place very much and here is my life story

I was born into a christian family. My Father and Mother were die hard Christ followers. My Father is still a die hard follower and reads the Bible everyday and has read it over 30 times while my mother doesn't attend church but hopefully she'll find one that suits her. I have a younger sister and she could be a pain but i can handle it now. I grew in an area where not many asians are (i'm korean btw). It was hard to make friends and we had to travel about an hour and a half to get to a church where i was bullied constantly. When i was little i thought church was a place to be punished. I HATED going to church when i was little. I always asked my mom if i had to go and of course she always said yes. It was like this until i was about 11 or 12.
Then my parents told me we were going to move a little bit closer to the church. that really hit me hard since i was about to go to a church i hated so more often. Then they asked me if i wanted to change churches and i had an apathy for God at the time so i was whatever sure. So we moved to this church where a friend of the family recommended. It was the best decision of my life. It was the start of 7th and with a new house, new community, new church, new school, and a new start. I was not welcomed at all but my parents put the push and made me go. This was the beginning when i began to listen to secular music, started cursing, and had dirty thoughts in my mind.
When it was 8th grade winter retreat i tried really hard not to go but something was tugging in my heart to go. Well i did go and i hated everything about it expect the food...well i really like to eat so i ate and ate. Since i hated everything about it i went out of the retreat unchanged and back to my bad ways. As always i went to church more and more and i kept going and going. Then for some reason i started to want to go more and more. so i went. then it was my freshmen year of HS started and this thing kept tugging and tugging me more. So the next winter retreat i signed up first, because of the food :p, well in that retreat i was truly saved and i had a fresh new start. I had this fresh new feeling i cannot explain. I was refreshed and i started my next semester out strong. That thing tugging and tugging me was God if you didn't know by now. Then i started getting involved in my church and i grew with my fellow brothers and sisters.
Then it was my sophomore year of high school and God wanted me to go on missions so i applied for to go to Malawi, Africa. there was only 20 spaces but 22 students went because the pastors couldn't choose one person to let go. This was my best experience in my life. i wouldn't take the world for this experience. God really opened my eyes as i actually witnessed what poverty really is. It hit me hard that their clothes were all ripped while mine were clean and in shape. It was an amazing experience and if you haven't gone on a mission's trip i highly recommened it.
I still continue to serve God in my church as of now i have been serving at Klema where we volunteer to help children who was disabled and less fortunate than us. I have been serving for an year and a half now and it's great way to serve God.
If you made it all the way here thanks for reading it :)
