I just found out from my sister that my cat Molly, who we'd had since I was 6 died. It's really shocking because we have another Cat, Snowball who's had diabetes, hyperthyroidism, and now cancer who is 2 years older, and still alive and kicking (which I'm glad for, very much). We all kind of thought she would die soon (not that we want her too) but Molly is a total shock, she was a perfectly healthy kitty as far as we knew.
I know it's silly, but I wish I could have said goodbye. Other than rodents and hermit crabs, I've never had a pet die before, not one I was close to and spent so much time with like my kitty.

I'm so sorry!!!!!

I don't know what to say - except that losing a pet is awful. When I lost my first cat I was sad for such a long time - thinking of her still brings tears to my eyes, 12 years later. But there are lots of good memories too, and in time you will come to cherish them.

Molly sure was a gorgeous kitty, and she looked a lot like one of my tabbies, especially the expression of her face. Thanks for posting the picture.

I hope Snowball will recover.

I'm sorry progressivegal.

Odlly enough, my wife and I have been looking after a neighbourhood feral cat. In the oast month we gotten to the point where he will come into the house to eat and we can pet him and pick him up. This has taken 6 months. But he has not come back in the last week. I am concerned that he has been killed.

Made me wonder if we should have befriended him in such a manner?

Aww I know how hard it is to lose a pet...I went to the vet and brought my lizard and she died right there at the vet and I was so upset I was almost in tears and I know everyone in the waiting room was like "Bro look at this huge guy crying over a little lizard...what a wimp!"...but I gave them looks like I was going to tear off their arms off and feed them to them so the looked down and left me alone...

Now I got Chinchillas...

Losing a pet is so hard...Im sorry for you loss

Into thy hands, O merciful Savior, we commend thy servant Molly. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech thee, a sheep of thine own fold, a lamb of thine own flock. Receive her into the arms of thy mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light.

Amen.

ProgressiveGal:

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I've had to bury 4 cats in my time, and I know the pain of losing a precious pet who has shared your life. I have been heartbroken at each loss and yet my life has been enriched by each one of them. I have two now and can't imagine my life without a cat or two. You have my prayers and sympathies.

My man Martin Luther once said that there would be dogs in heaven. Though he was much more German and graniloquent about it, essentially he said that it wouldn't be heaven without them. There will be cats in heaven, too.
