• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have a friend online, I think she's bi-polar, she is usually sweet and kind, but suddenly she becomes very mean and violent she gets very scary. Yesterday She attacked me for no reason, she said I was horrible as her mom, that I'm a lier and I fake everything. I don't know what I did to her. She was yelling and screaming about everyone. I told her to calm down please and she said she did nothing wrong and I need help because I'm crazy. She has done this before A few times, I try to get her to get help, and she says she's not bi-polar, she's not a nut and nothing is wrong with her, but alot is one min she's wanting to die the next she's all happy happy, I have the disorder myself and I know this might be what she has, but my mood swings are alot more mild. She totally goes out of control, she also flood my mailbox with mean smilies. She might even be pregnant, and it scares me for her to have a child, she refuses to get help when she needs it really bad. What should I do? We are from separate countries so I can't do much.

Kaiya,
You can not help someone who will not admit they want help. You do not deserve to be mistreated as you describe here. Set some boundaries with this person and let them know that they need to stop sending you nasty pm's.

Sometimes we can not help someone no matter how much we want to. They have to want to go and get help.

That's true...but... whoever it is, I wish they would stop. 2 wrongs do not make a right. Whoever it is messing with Kaiya stop being such a brat, regardless of the bi-polar problem if she has one. Kaiya has been through so much with the online abuse thing. Whoever you are...put a sock in it. I don't mean to sound mean or anything...all I'm saying is I am tired of this bs being afflicted on my friend Kaiya here. I really am

I don't think they can control it, but you're right I have had alot of abuse in my life. I try to help them it doesn't work oh well. I have had problems with her before with her being mean, then I would tell her the next day what she did she said she don't remember that. I dunno what is wrong with her but I pray she gets help quick.

hey hun! big *warmfuzzy*...
after you have exstended yourself to help someone... if they don't except or understand it, then it's ok to step back and care for yourself. people can become a stumblng block for us while ourselves are trying to grow.
i agree with thornygrace. boundries are nessasary to break the cycles of abuse and or unhealthy relationships. taking a break for example. seeing less of eachother. making a friendship boundry list. but any way... i think you are an incredible sweetheart.
blessings to you!! :prayer:
