  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

John and Romans are a great place to begin your reading. As you learn, though, I suspect you'll find that other Scriptures are also quite interesting. After many years studying God's Word, I have discovered that the whole Bible is exciting to read. Perhaps it would help if you tried to read a different translation? Sometimes certain translations can be harder to read and that can make the text of Scripture seem excessively difficult.

Keep reading! :D

I agree with TimRout a different version may help.

For many years I could not wrap my head around all of those thee's and thou's, or understand what little I did read. Then my brother accidently bought me the NIV version. For me not only was it easier to start with the NIV with all it's plain english. When I went back to read the King James version it was so much more exciting.
