[Joy]

I am not consistent in my devotions the passage I read today.

Romans 12:11-12 (EXB)

11 Do not be ·lazy but work hard [L lacking in zeal],

Zeal means a strong feeling of interest and enthusiasm that makes someone very eager or determined to do something

serving the Lord with ·all your heart [L a fervent/eager/enthusiastic spirit]. Eager means very excited and interested : feeling a strong and impatient desire to do something or for something.

Father God I Thank you that it is Your goodness leads me to repentance (Roms 2:4) Restore to me the joy of Thy salvation (Psalm 51:12)
to regain or recover (vigour, strength, activity, etc)


12 ·Be joyful because you have hope [L Rejoice in hope]. ·Be patient [Endure·when trouble comes [L in suffering/tribulation], and pray ·at all times devote yourselves to prayer
devote means
devote attention to something: to spend time doing something
commit yourself to something: to commit yourself or your life to something [faithfully; with persistence/perseverance].
The Message
Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.

Revelation 2:4-5 (AMP)

4 But I have this [one charge to make] against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first [you have deserted Me, your first love].
5 Remember then from what heights you have fallen. Repent (change the inner man to meet God’s will) and do the works you did previously [when first you knew the Lord], or else I will visit you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you change your mind and repent.

Abandoned the love you had at first reminded me of this verse in Hosea 2

14 Therefore, behold, I will allure her [Israel] and bring her into the wilderness, and I will speak tenderly and to her heart.
15 There I will give her her vineyards and make the Valley of Achor [troubling] to be for her a door of hope and expectation. And she shall sing there and respond as in the days of her youth and as at the time when she came up out of the land of Egypt.(A)
