  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My dad is 87 years old. He is living with my two sisters in Kaufman, and his grandkids. My two sisters of course have to work and so does my 17 year old niece. My nephew goes to school. So some busybody social worker stopped in and told us that Dad needs someone with him all the time. She implied that if we don't get someone to stay with him she will force him to go to a nursing home. My dad is fully aware for his age and said he will never go to a nursing home. If he does, he will give up the will to live. We cannot afford to pay someone to stay with him and social security will not pay for someone. They will pay for a nursing home which is a lot more expensive than paying for a nurse or aide to stay with my dad (explain that one to me). Can a social worker force someone into the nursing home? Isn't this just a little too much like Nazi Germany
