I just wanted to thank everyone here in this area of the forum.

I've decided today (or was it last night) that I want to be a christian.

I will be taking it slow. I have a lot of areas in my life that need changing because of my 'old ways'.

I have a lot to learn.

This is a conclusion I came to on my own (and with God).

I decided that I won't let other Christians stop me from knowing God.

All the church hypocrites and politics that drove me away - I will avoid.

I should have put my faith in God, and not let other people change that.

Thanks again guys and gals.

Thank you digit for being a friend and talking to me via PM. It helped to have another male around my age and living in my city to talk to.

Cheers

David :prayer:

Wow!

Welcome to the family of God, Davin!

This is such an encouragement to me, that good things actually can and do happen here!

I will pray for you, that you will put down strong roots in Christ, and that you will not waver in your newfound faith!

Yes, we all need changing, and it is a lifetime process, but you know what? God does the changing! The more we follow, the richer life in Him gets!

Yes, don't look at the weaknesses of others in the Church, but rather, look to Jesus. He will lead you, and He will provide you with people of excellence to guide you and befriend you!

God bless you today, brother.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Hey, Davinnnn....d

That's great! Thank you for letting us in on your decisions -- and your ongoing thoughts. It's a pleasure to have you around.

Luke 15
What man of you having a hundred sheep, and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety nine in the deserted place and go after the lost one until he finds it?

And finding it , he puts it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And coming to the house, he calls together the friends and neighbors, saying to them, "Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that had been lost."

I say to you that so is joy in Heaven...

I was just thinking about you and this verse came to mind:

Hebrews 12:2
We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

We also can endure all hardships with Him strengthening us, and knowing that there is joy awaiting us! Fix your eyes on Jesus!

 Awesome! Keep your eyes on the Lord, us humans only prove God's word is true about us and our sinful condition and that we need His help. We're all works in progress and none of us have arrived at being perfectly good... chances are, other people point to you or me as to why they don't want to be Christians - we're all guilty of hypocrisies and lack of love and all the rest.
AND WE ALL NEED TO FORGIVE THE ONES WHO WE THINK COMMIT TRESSPASSES AGAINST US! It's a 2 way street.

We all need mercy and grace. (Paul even called himself 'chief sinner').

People will always fail us - we cannot compare to God's perfection and LOVE in its fullness. We're a poor substitute.

God bless and keep your walk w/ Him!

Amen!

To be a thriving member of THE CHURCH, you need to be an active member of a church.
I always wonder this, if church is so horrific to be in, then how in the world are we going to coexist with each other in eternal life?!!!!!
Are we so incompatible or something?  (some people are) LOL but goodness, everybody isn't that terrible are they? :holy: :holy: *straightens halo*

Oh, Davin! That's so wonderful!

Let the Holy Spirit lead you while you search for a good church. Read scripture for yourself - pray that the Holy Spirit teach you what you need to know. He's faithful to do so - I'm proof positive of that.

Oooo, I want to jump up and down! :D

LK 15:3 Then Jesus told them this parable: [4] "Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? [5] And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders [6] and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, `Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' [7] I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
