The slap... was an act..

C'mon, the ratings are in the tank... Chris was barely affected... They're actors.... I say it was staged.

I already posted a post, stating that it was a performance on another thread about this. Like back in the 1980"s when Jerry (The King) Lawler slapped Andy Kaufman on The Letterman show.

But like the globe earth many believe it was real.

I watch it one time this morning to see what the news was saying, as i just caught a glimpse of the story changing channels. I just remember this chris rock person looking like he was bracing for a slap/punch. I know me personally, no one is going to hit me from straight on without me at least getting in a partial duck. I am not going to just stand there with my hands to my side wating to get hit.

This chris person probably received a good payout for his role/part.

It is hollywood they are paid to act. I am sure there was a few months of stuntman training on how to take a slap/punch.

I though at first it was staged.... but after see the full unedited clip pretty sure it was real.
Everything about the body language, the pause, the swagger and the emphatic verbal communication ...that was real.

What we don't know is ....if Smith told Rock not to do that joke at rehearsal ...that possible.

Even if it was staged it was a good example of where not to cross the line. But I would have given him more than a slap ...In my book, you can make fun of me all day, but touch my wife girlfriend or family, and we are going to dance.

I know what you are saying ....I considered that ...but there are certain things you just can't script...
I am not totally 100% on this being real ...but pretty close.

I did notice how fast Chris ducked, almost like a professional boxer! His eye's however were watering or a little teary eyed, like it hurt.. though. That takes some work to do or maybe he did get hit slapped hard.

I guess they could have planned it all.. like professional wrestling is scripted. It seemed a bit over done on Will Smiths part. And wow I'm watching his Oscar acceptance speech... what a drama queen! Pun intended.

Do y'all think it was staged or that it's possible it was staged? I agree it's possible, but the same features we all saw also fit a real life event. To claim, carte blanche, it was staged is not warranted.

Chris Rock's reaction was 100% genuine. There's no way it was staged. And I don't think Will Smith would risk ruin his image to boost the Oscars ratings.

If two D list celebrities were involved in the situation, then I'd probably consider that it was staged.

It looks like Mr. Smith simply had a meltdown, probably triggered by marital issues.

To me nothing about it looks differently than if it was real. It was a hard slap, actors don’t even get hit they have stand ins. Will’s initial laughter doesn’t seem to fit a full angry reaction & assault ‘Routine’ to me. Chris made a couple quick remarks (can’t exactly say nothing at all) and then fluffed it off and moved on, it seems like Andy Kaufman type staged dramas wouldn’t be swept under the rug quickly by one of the participants. Will’s crying speech was the epitome of celebrity virtue signaling, nothing shocking there. People have been saying it was fake because Chris didn’t grab his face and if you’re struck in the face it’s normal to grab your face, but if that makes a slap “Look real” wouldn’t he grab his face if it was staged, so that it looks real lol?

Memphis Wrestling in the 1970's and 80's did this long before and was better at it. Get one person or group to play the villain and have the show.

Why does everyone have to go to "you're wrong"... Not that you stated "you're wrong" but you did state "absolutely incorrect" and that everyone is entitled to be wrong once in a while.

What is wrong with having different views and agreeing that there is a chance both are correct?

Really it's a lot of talk about nothing important.
If it was real I don't blame Smith, sure it was dumb, but understandable.

I still think that someone getting an Oscar... should be capable of that level of an act..

That goes for everything these entitled people of Hollywood do.. They are good at one thing.... that we know of... acting.

So, I don't listen to their opinions on anything. Not actors, not singers.... not comedians.. non of them..

No more than I would get their advice on how to close my pool for the winter.

You act.... stick to that.

Just because you're on a stage and have a microphone.... don't mean I am going to believe you. The fact your an actor... diminishes it even more.

They say and do flase things... for money... That's their job.

What may be interesting about this is, is there any so call famous, nationally known conservative personality/commentator or conspiracy guru who is calling this out as staged. or are they all playing along.

I would kind of doubt it, as they all seem to be part of the deception game.
