• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well RND--you may agree with all that your friend has written, but I sure do! I won't watch the puppy video--my heart cannot bear to look upon such carnage, but that solider needs to be court marshaled and serve time. Life is precious--no matter if it's contained by bare flesh or fur. This man is heartless and cruel.

Maybe he needs to be thrown off that cliff instead of going to jail. You know--let the punishment fit the crime.

Oh, you're definately right-on HTS regarding Doug's article. My differences with Doug have more to do with theology and whether or not this "night in shining armour" mentality of how to save Amerika is going to work. Obviously, I don't think it will, using scripture as my guide of course.

Some call it a "fatalist" mentality. Based on scripture I consider it to a a "realist" mentality.

It is interesting aside from the cruelty of the U.S. soldier that the media does not wonder about the dog because dogs are not something that Islamists have much love for:

Dogs in Islam

Traditionally, dogs have been seen as impure, and the Islamic legal tradition has developed several injunctions that warn Muslims against most contact with dogs. Unfortunately, many Muslims have used this view to justify the abuse and neglect of dogs, even though cruelty contradicts the Qur'an's view that all animals form "communities like you." We are pleased to present several articles examining the place of dogs in Islam.

No matter where is the world they are, the American soldier should represent the values of his/her home country, and not the values of the country where they are stationed.

The fact that animal cruelty is not a crime in certain countries should not excuse that type of behavior with respect to our morals and standards in regards to the actions of our soldiers.

I think it's called 'taking the moral highground.'

It is certainly a Biblical principal to show Jesus Christ to the world in all our actions. It should be no different to show the world the goodness and mercy of our people and our country through our actions as well.
