Hello all ...

What are your biggest worries? I know Christians shouldn't be worried about things "Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?" Matthew 6

However, I find it hard not to be worried or antsy about things ... I love God so much but I also do not want Jesus to return yet ... I feel like although I'm separate from the world the world is all I know? I haven't accomplished anything ...

My biggest worry is that Jesus Christ is going to come back before I make my mark, before I graduate, have a job, get married, have kids - I feel super selfish because of this but then other times I want Jesus to come back because of all the EVIL in this world

I've done nothing special for Christ either. I feel like I NEED to finish the Bible ... "study to show yourself approved" however, what if Jesus comes back and I'm not done *teary eyed* - I know its not REQUIRED in the absolute salvation sense but I WANT to

I have NO real friends and the 3 I have don't understand the times we are in and how vital it is that to accept and LIVE for Christ. I feel like I'm talking to them but their not listening. I'm also dealing with some other things as well. I want to move to the USA. I have no fears about leaving my "family" behind - isn't that selfish? Not that I wouldn't talk to them but I feel like I view them differently

*rant over*

I'm actually fairly worry free. If I had a worry, Jesus coming back would be the last one of them for a multitude of reasons. I've sort of let go of everything in my life, and given it all to God. I use to worry about getting the right career, finding the right woman, but I've found its possible to be stress free and happy without them. Perhaps I lose out on some experiences or opportunities because I don't worry about anything anymore, but its a price worth paying for peace. I don't want to live a worried stressed out life. I don't think God has called us to. Basically I just don't let anything get to me anymore, and I'm better off for it. It wasn't easy to get to this state of mind but is wonderful to have.

Yeah I mean the way I look at it is, we deserve nothing in this life. We didn't even deserve to be born. Whatever we get in life is a bonus, but nothing is guaranteed in life, and if we have made it this far without a spouse, an amazing career, or kids I think we will be okay regardless of what happens. This doesn't mean don't try to have what you want, or have goals, it just means be okay where you are and try not to put too much pressure on yourself with thoughts like I will only be happy if x y or z happens. That just is no way to live. I find gratitude to be vital in life because all we have is now, and let us thank God we even have what we do now.

There is nothing wrong with having ambitions.
The thing about them is are you doing anything about them NOW.
If your not, you'll turn round 40 years later and wonder what did I do in all those years.

You want to serve God, great.
What are you doing in your church to serve God NOW?
Only three friends, start talking to people at work, college, in your street.
Join a sports club, start stamp collecting, anything to meet people and you will make friends, friends you can also talk to about Jesus.
Here's a suggestion. Ask do you believe in heaven? What do you think its like?
Sooner or later it will be said that heaven is 'Perfect'. At this point you saidly say 'I'm not perfect!' Oncethis is recognised by who you're talking to you can introduce Jesus and the gift of salvation he freely offers.

Get to it.

Yeah I know what you mean. I am grateful that God has revealed himself to me and called me to Jesus for salvation from my lukewarm ways although I would have much rather not have been born. I am glad he even called me to be at peace. I used to feel like I was going to be crushed by this world ... I used to feel like I just couldn't be what God wanted. I wished so badly that I would have never been born ... but now that I'm here I was submitting to the will of God! I am fighting the good fight. I will rejoice because my God, the Almighty God is preparing a place for ME! So thanks for your advice and for putting things into perspective

Nothing breaks my heart more than the evil in this world!

One of my fav bible verses - my heart resonates so completely with these scriptures

"So I returned, and considered all the oppression that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter. Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive. Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun." Ecclesiastes 4:13

Thanks for your advice

Trust me, Mustard (can I call you "Mustard"? I'd like to call someone "Mustard"; never done it before).

Note: Forgive me, I like playing around quite a bit sometimes. But I digress...

Trust me, He is NOT coming back any time soon. As I posted on a similar thread recently, WAY too many things need to be fulfilled before we even get close to the time when those prophesies can be fulfilled. Given that this is a recurring theme, it would appear that the news is just frightening the BeJesus out of people. But don't worry. God is control, and you have all the time in the world. Focus on the good things instead of the things causing you anxiety (Philippians 4:4-8). But make HIM first priority in your life. If you seek first His righteousness, all the other things will be added unto you (Matthew 6:33-34).

Please believe me. No matter what else you might hear, I'm telling you the truth.

Here's the thing - I am shy. I'm not outgoing ... I don't know what to do at church other then sing and listen. I don't play any instruments. Mind you - there are about 15 people total in the church I attend. I don't have a home church that I would call "my" church. I don't mean to say that I will not tell people about Christ because many people around me are professing Christians

I want to do something spectacular like help the homeless

LOL, that really made me laugh! Thanks. Your post was really helpful and yes you can call me mustard. I guess I just really want kids not really really like in a coveting way but I just want them lol

Yes, God is in control always. I do think that something bad is going to happen before Christ comes back but then I rather be waiting then not waiting at the same time. Have you read the parable of the servants waiting for their Lord?

I guess I've been watching a lot of dreams and visions on YouTube - even though I know they are true and Jesus IS coming back, it also makes me rightly fearful you know?
I just need patience!

There is always something that needs doing in church, ask the minister what you can do to help.
I was serious about joining a club etc. You are going to have to walk into a job and meet new people and talk to them, practise by joining a club, dance class etc you will be talking to strangers who will become friends as you talk about dance stamps, knitting whatever the club is about.

Is there any groups who already help the homeless? If there is find out about them, could you join them, or raise awareness at church and funds for them.

How do you DARE to say you wish you had never been born? My mother once told me (after I had grown up, and was an adult) that if abortion had been legal when she was pregnant with me, she would have gotten an abortion.

It took me a while, but I forgave her. But I thank God for every day He has given me. I thank God that my heart continues to beat, my lungs keep working, and that I am (usually) able to get up and take care of myself. BTW, how old are you?

2 Timothy 4:8 (NKJV):
8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
It's a very good thing to be looking forward to Jesus' return. As you think about Christ’s return, keep two great truths in mind. First, no matter how far we fall short, remember that our salvation does not depend on our good works. Our salvation depends only on Christ and what He did for us through His death and resurrection. Your concern is understandable—but never forget that your salvation depends on Christ, not on your good works. The Bible says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith … not by works” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

The other truth, however, is that God has a reason for keeping you here. Life is short, and if you are ever going to live for Christ, it should be now. Jesus said, “As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work” (John 9:4).

God bless!

You're very welcome, Mrs. Mustard!
I do think that something bad is going to happen before Christ comes back but then I rather be waiting then not waiting at the same time. Have you read the parable of the servants waiting for their Lord?

A whole lot of bad things are going to happen before Christ comes back, but He will still be in control. And yes, waiting is the command of scripture.
Have you read the parable of the servants waiting for their Lord?

I've read several parables of the servants, actually. And they teach a lot of excellent and important things, which is why you definitely do want to keep watching, and growing in an accurate knowledge of the word so as to now exactly what to be watching for. But not in fear, my dear. In hope and joyful expectation.
I guess I've been watching a lot of dreams and visions on YouTube - even though I know they are true and Jesus IS coming back, it also makes me rightly fearful you know?
I just need patience!

Oh, God Almighty. If I were watching half that stuff I'd need patience too. Maybe a cardiac arrest specialist on call 24/7. Leave the fear-mongers to their own paranoia, Mrs. Mustard. You are blessed to be in relationship with the True and Living God, and He's got much more in store for you than listening to "The sky is falling!" day in day out, non-stop, world without end.

Listen to some good music, and enjoy being happy for Pete's sake.

And that's an order!!!

Love, your brother,
Hidden

This is a very interesting question, and your worried sound pretty familiar to me. I have had those same thoughts before, but I know that everything will happen the way God has planned. I want to get married and have a family. I wish to study God's word and help others. I would love to lead people to God and also do a lot of good before leaving. As long as you aren't too worried, it sounds like those ideas in your head are part of what keeps you focused on the right things.

Hey, I can relate. What especially is scaring me now is that North Korea, China, Russia situation. I hope it doesn't end yet. I never married, had kids, or anything productive, let alone for Jesus, in my life. I feel left behind because of my lack of success with women, et cetera, too.
