• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Wow I just want to complement you guys for dedicating a thread to Christian advice to OCD sufferers. I never found this place while suffering! I too went through it but by the grace of God am mended and healed. I thank Jesus that He died for me!

It was probably the most horrible experience of my life and super painful... But nothing compared to the love of God, the power of God, and the extent of the blessings He brings me.

Thankyou again for setting up this forum because I know too well how horrible and isolating OCD can be. Support is one of the best things you can have while going through it.

Hi TeChNoWC...glad you're doing so well! I just wanted to say thank you for writing an encouraging post wihout it reading in a way that is likely to make people who HAVEN'T been healed feel bad about that! It can unfortunately be the case that when others have been miraculously helped by God those still suffering can be left feeling like they're somehow letting the side down...but you have managed to give God the glory and hopefully encourage those who set up the forum without sounding smug or judgemental...well done and thank you!! Oh Gosh Seajoy I didn't mean you at all! I'm so sorry you took it that way! I'm not even meaning anyone on here! I just know that sometimes people can get healed and almost make a doctrine out of how it happened and that it should therefore happen to everyone! I once met a Christian who was involved in an organisation who have a special ministry for healing people with ME...and I really felt like I was letting the side down cos I was sick! You and others who have been healed either miraulously or through therapy are so encouraging and real on this forum. You come accross as caring deeply about others suffering and have a desire to pass on what you've leant to others. My post was really meant to encourage TeCHnoWC not to have a go at anyone else on here. This is a fab place and the patience I've found amongst those giving advice is terrible. You are empathic cos you've been there and know the pain. I'm so sorry I haven't repleid before only just read this...I'm sorry I caused offence...hugs, Rachel
