I've not really heard of any new ones either. What's the first musical you've ever seen?
My first one was Cats...I've actually seen it 3 times. I've seen 5 different musicals that I can think of....but I've listened to the soundtracks of many more.

I never seen a musical live. I did study music in college however, so I have played in the pit a number of operas and operettas, with last being The Seven Deadly Sins by Kurt Weill, many years ago. The last top notch muscial I bought on CD was The Secret Garden by Lucy Simon & Marsha Norman.

yer ive seen 'me and my girl' 'les miserables' 'phantom of the opera' 'lion king' 'whistle down the wind' ' we will rock you' 'chicago' 'anything goes' ...
i love musicals! our school has done 'me and my girl' 'les mis..' and is currently practising for 'anything goes' ive also played clarinet in a less well known one 'brigadoon'
and i have listened to many cd's and sound tracks of different musicals

Awesome! I want to see Les Miserables...its coming close to us in January and in March. Jesus Christ Superstar is coming this next weekend which I want to see.
I've seen Cats 3 times, Phantom of the Opera (one of my favorites!) twice, Jekle and Hyde, Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast.
Those were all the professional ones I've seen.
I've seen Anything Goes, My Fair Lady, Pirates of Pensantz (so spelled that wrong, i think...), Sunset Blvd., Will Rodgers Fall Follies...and some others I can't think of done by high schools.
How was Les Miserables? I've listened to the soundtrack, Eponine is my favorite character...or young Cosette.
