I write books, mostly (though I have yet to see one all the way through to the final draft and publishing) but I took one conflict and made it into a ballad. Here it is (or what I can remember of it.) Keep in mind it is set in a fantasy world.
(Slow, ballad. James sings out in despair over his love)
James:
My Aurora! Oh belov-ed! Blessed star of Heaven's grace!
Struck down from the sky
You left me wond'rin' why
This darkness takes your place
Was it Fate who sent you to me, just to steal you back again
The die Chance had cast
Took my true-love and last
Whilst Sorrow closes in
I have lost you, my Aurora, in the depths of my despair!
Through passion's failing sight,
My hatred burning bright,
I cannot find you there
"At your side I shall protect you!" Was that not the vow I swore?
I failed you in love,
But to heaven above,
I swear, to end this WAR!!!!!!
That's all I had, for that one part...
