Obviously all music is written for some sort of purpose, and to some extent music influences most our lives.... some more than others. Just for a bit of fun though, post a track that had or has some purpose..

I'll start, I watched 'The Hurricane' the other day, true story about some boxer dude who got locked up for a crime he didn't commit, Bob Dylan wrote a protest song about it

But anyway, I'm an opera fan. Verdi's Aida was written for the opening of the Suez Canal. Here's an excerpt from a concert performance of the Triumphal March. Excellent work by the late conductor, Giuseppe Sinopoli. Bravissimo!
