My husband and I are currently seperated. I find music very uplifting and encouraging to help me through tough times. Currently I have been listening to:

What works for me is just any praise music that helps me to take my eyes off my own situation and put them on the Sovereign Lord. It helps me to trust him that no matter how hard things get, or how lonely I have been, that he is there and he knows what he's doing. Songs that have helped me get through some tough times are

I find that when I'm listening to regular radio stations, that when the so-called "love" songs come on, in my mind I change them to love songs about Jesus. They used to upset me a lot until somewhere along the way I began to hear them differently. I'm not even sure that I made a conscious decision to do that, but I'm very thankful for it! I'm not sure if I'm making any sense. Let me know if I'm not!

Sometimes the songs are not perceived by people the way they are made to be.

There is surrender in God and there is appealing to the ego. Never the twain shall meet.

Ave Maria, Gloria in excelsis Deo, and Kyrie Eleison are some songs I find inspiration from. I get annoyed by songs that say ewe too much.
