  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anyone going to any music festivals this summer? There are a couple of pretty good ones on offer in Britain. There's T in The Park in Scotland and the sunday line up on the main stage to me looks well worth checking out, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Kings of Leon, PJ Harvey and The Pixies!

I am definitely going to one, possibly two.

Coventry: 65,000 people will pour into an abandoned airport in Newport , VT to see Phish's last few shows. This is my first Phish festival and I cannot wait! It goes from Friday night to Sunday night. I am horribly terrified of the traffic, I fully expect to wait about 12 hours in line once we get to within a mile of the campsite. But it will be worth it. 6 Phish shows, each one at least 2 sets, possibly 3.

moe.down: moe. is one of my favorite jambands, and I went to moe.down 2 years ago and it was awesome. A big camp out on a ski slope in upstate New York. There will be a lot of bands there, so far the Disco Biscuits and Leftover Salmon have joined the bill. The year I went, Galactic, Medeski Martin and Wood, Robert Randolph ands Particle were the best guest bands. Last Year the Flaming Lips came out in farm animal costumes and played Dark Side of the Moon. It should be a blast if I decide to go.
