Hello, before anything I understand none of you are doctors and thus everything posted here should be only taken as an opinion. My question is if its mentally unhealthy to listen to depressing music when I have my bouts of unhappiness?
I'm pretty sure its not the music that begins the unhappiness; I start out with the "dead inside" feeling which leads to me wanting to just listen to things that make me cry like Pink Floyd's "The Wall" as my main example. I'm pretty sure its the mood that comes first because when I feel content I typically go for more cheery music in my Ipod's library.
In any case despite feeling in the depths of misery I almost desire that feeling of hitting rock bottom and crying while hearing music that helps trigger the deepest depression. Its almost as if without it I just linger in this numbness and I much rather be crying limply than feel nothing but a void in my chest that only holds anger and emptiness.
