Mrs Barbarian sure knows her way around a camera! That is a beautiful picture! Looking forward to Washington this year myself.![]()
Puget Sound, Seattle, and the Cascades (I think) from Alki Beach
As a born-and-raised Washingtonian and resident of the Puget Sound, my pride for the natural beauty of this area is high. I know I'm biased, but I really do believe that it's hard to match Washington, and the entire Pacific Northwest in general, in terms of just being surrounded by natural beauty on a regular basis.
Cascadia proud.

She took up photography so we could do it together. Now, she often puts me to shame. Her sense of composition is remarkably good.
We had planned to drive from Texas to Seattle last summer, but the widespread fires meant visibility was limited in many places we'd want to photograph. I did some research, and there's a lot of things in the West that are beautiful as well.
Maybe next year.
Lovely shot, BTW. It's good to break the rules and shoot into the sun every now and then; sometimes, it pays off as it did for you here. Have you ever done HDR processing?

It can work well when using strongly backlighted scenes.

Im not much of one either but I thank you for the pointer! I appreciate it.I'm not much of a videographer. But I think there are some folks on photo.net who would share their ideas with you.
To be honest, it was shot with my phone..... I have not used any software other than the simple stuff that comes with the phone. Thank you for the compliment btw.
All i can say is wow..... what a shot.Cell phone cameras have gotten to the point that you can do excellent work with most of them:

This required a lot of processing, but its shows the quality that's possible with a decent phone camera.
As they say, the best camera is the one you have with you. And a good eye for an image is better than any equipment you can buy.
I must say that's quite impressive! The shot of course but also the image of the sky reflecting on the floor. Very nice!Cell phone cameras have gotten to the point that you can do excellent work with most of them:

The real challenge is to get the exposure right for both the outdoor area and the hall. Lots of post-processing involved. Samsung 9, BTW.
