I am so saddened by this news. I grew up watching Mr. Rodgers. It was my favorite show! What sad news to wake up to this morning...

That's so sad!!  I loved him as a little girl.  My little ones watch him on tv sometimes.  I hope he's with our Savior.

I was not a fan but my younger daughter was. I heard a pshcologist say that the pace of his show was excellent for adhd kids as it calmed them down. Sesame Street was given as an example of one that was overly stimulating. I am sure everyone knows that one of his sweaters is on display at the Smithsonian in the American History building. but did you know that Crayola has a shade of blue crayon named for him ?
a good decent kind man. may we all be so missed when we are gone and may we all be able to keep the wonder of a child at our world the way he was able too.

I loved him when I was little. Now that I'm a mom, my boys love his show. I am so pleased that they found such a gentle, peaceful, and kind hearted role model in him.

I don't recall which program it was, but a few years back I saw Fred Rogers on one of the late-night talk shows. I had never seen another guest, of whatever degree of celebrity, receive such genuinely warm and enthusiastic applause from a studio audience. The man was loved and for all the right reasons. He leaves a void in children's programming that will not be filled.

I already miss him.

When I think of Mr. Rogers I think of the gentleness of Christ. He always seemed to out the ohter in front of himself and genuinely care about the other person. Whether he was talking to the kids, his adult guests, or even to his goldfish he was always so kind. He made others feel better about themselves and better about others in their community.

He will be missed by me if anything just for make believe world. When I was child I could hardly wait for the trolly to go into the tunnel and take me to the world of King Friday, Owlsey, and that lady with the red nose. He was a cool guy.

I enjoy watching his program more than my little ones do! He had a very comforting and soothing way about him. Even as an adult, I can appreciate Mr. Rogers.

It's so silly, but when my hubby came home, and I told him, I started crying.....geez......

Its not silly at all. I've been crying on an off all day. Most of us have never had a world without Mr. Roger's in it. He is genuinely a "light in a dark world," as someone in the media has already said today. He will be missed.
