which mp3 player should i get for my birthday...i have heard ipods are the best, but i dont like apple..haha....

i need 15+ gib, i have a ton of cd's, and it has to be durable. let me know what u think

hmm....dont get an ipod. they may be nice and have heaps of nice features and all but the fact the battery only lasts 18 months means they're really bad value for money.

Yup, that's one of the reason's I've not bought an iPod, it's strange how Apple do things like that. They create a great product but then do something that makes one aspect of it impractical.

I'm getting a CreativeLabs Jukebox 3 for recording our church sermons on, it has a 20GB capacity anf can record too (and has a radio I believe). It's not teeny-weeny like an iPod but it does the job. If it's good I might buy one for myself as a home audio centre type thing.

dude! their products are expensive enough without putting planned obsolesence in there. they make enough money off ipods without forcing people to go out and pay $200 for a replacement battery...

You have two battery replacement options.

• Buy a new battery Apple will replace your iPod battery for $99.
• Buy a kit Replace the battery with the $59 iPod 1500mAh Replacement Internal Battery Kit from PDASmart. Or, you can buy the $49 Internal Battery Replacement for iPod from Laptops for Less

Personally I like those mp3 players that have a little screen on them that let you watch avi files.

Personally I use a Sony NetMD, easily changable discs and its small. also they about to bring a 1GB version too.

Yeah i'll 2nd the sony NetMD very worthwhile purchase. I've had it for about 2 years now and not really had any problems. They've gone down in cost quite a bit now too.

I have 2 MD recorders. I have a sony mz-r500 and a netmd mz-n710. The only problem i had is that with the first one i bought, i did a lot of recording and it stopped recording right after the warranty ended.

I hope they can make the transfer rate bit faster because although it records fast in LP2 it takes a long time in normal mode.

well if yo have a 3 year warranty then you wouldnt have to pay the $200 battery replacement fee.

I LOVE my iPod!!! It was well worth the investment to keep all my music, the Harry Potter series, etc. in one place and portable. Plus, I find the iPod to be quite sexy! Others haven't quite matched it for features and sexiness!

PS I'm not an Apple person either...PC all the way. But the iPod was so darn sexy and reduced because it had been returned...I couldn't resist. I don't generally buy Apple products but they create some darn attractive and sexy hardware!

Try the Rio riot then, 20GB, its a little old (so quite cheap), and a little big, but its reliable, easy to use, and like I said 20 GB.

evidently its not covered or something...you do realise people have lawsuits against apple because of this??
