Moving Tales

Hey everyone, I am moving on Friday...again. This is the seventh time in the past 10 years that I am moving. I have rented apartments, a condo, and a house over the last ten years...wow, I cant wait to buy a house in the near future and stop all of this packing. So does anyone else have any tales about moving...how often, any funny stories...etc. I would love to hear them...have a great week everyone...

Leaving college #2

I had my car packed up for a few days.
I had the car on the side of the road which was where I was suppose to park it.

My parents were coming in the next day.
We were going to put the bulk of my stuff in a Uhaul to take home.

My roommate told me it was raining bad. I knew that.
What she neglected to tell me was my car was getting flooded.

I had to run out and get everything out of the back seat.
My major class reports were soaking wet.
I wanted to save them after all that hard work.

I used a hair dryer on them once I got them back in the house.
And I moved my car higher up on the driveway.



After we drove from Ohio to Maine...
We had to air out the car.
It smelled pretty bad from the interior water.

It happened in April.
Want to know what kind of precipitation there was?
Major rain causing flooding in area.

It started to become a joke that I may always move in really bad weather.

Good grief caitilincares! Talk about "fun times"...

I don't have any horrid tales....except after moving (by myself) from Kentucky to Kansas, I swore right then and there that the next time I move, I am paying someone else to do all the work!

The Lord blessed me with a house of my own (well technically Countrywide owns it for the next 29 1/2 years...) right after last Thanksgiving. It was the first time I'd moved in 7 years. I never realized how much JUNK I had accumulated during that time. To make a long story short...due to delays with getting the place ready to move in I didn't get moved until the first week of January....right in the middle of an ice storm! I spent one night here and lost power by the time I got off work the next day. Luckily it was only for one day. However, my mom lives only a mile and a half from me and was without power for 3 days during that time. It was a crazy time! I have other 'horror' stories about the month between signing my life away and moving in but they are long and complicated....too much to type for a simple forum. lol
