I think liberals are even starting to catch on to this climate red herring.
I just watched a movie where Samuel Jackson (it's a terrible movie, do not watch it) ... but Jackson basically said climate change is a red herring on environmental issues.
And it is. There are real environmental things people could be concerned about. C02 isn't one of them. It's the least concerning issue, if it is an issue at all.
Yet the least important issue, was pressed to the forefront above all other issues. Makes no sense.
Yet if you want to have a new government tax, and a reason to sell credits to corporations and dole out credits to corporations you favor, and restrict other corps that you don't like, it's a pretty good system for politicians to manage.
Just think, when they get elected by a corp, they can ensure that their competitors get less credits and the other businesses that support them get more. In this sense, the credit would be worth more than the economic value of the credit, because it gives political control to an individual to use on a quid-pro-quo basis.
That, and the philosophy of higher taxes for all, always seems to be the 2 main points behind CO2 concerns.
