what do you guys think of moulin rouge? i searched for it on this forum and i was surprised that there was not one message or thread that even mentioned it. you guys love it/hate it, why or why not? do you think it's a good story? immoral? etc.....

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Personally, I liked it. I know it's kind of a chick flick and it *******izes a lot of pop music... but come on, where else are you going to see a lot of old guys in tuxedos singing "Smells Like Teen Spirit?" And here's a freaky fact - the guy that played Audrey the playwriter in the beginning was David Wenham, the guy that played Faramir in Two Towers.

I tried to watch but I couldn't do it. I turned it off after 20 minutes. I did not like it because of the modern songs and I could not get into the characters. It was too in your face.

I love that movie and so does my husband. He sings the love songs to me. The first half is such a comedy and the second half is so sad. The colors and action are so brassy and surreal that I think they captured the whirlwind of the Moulin Rouge shown in Latrec's paintings.

It was the first movie hubby and I ever watched together when we were dating, and the love songs have become dear to us. I love it...

I loved Moulin Rouge. I mean, getting past the whole she's a courtesan thing, it had a nice love story, and the music was amazing. It just had a great atmosphere.

I loved the color sceme in this movie. It was sooo vibrant! The story was also very good. Some of the people I know wouldn't be able to get past the first 20 minutes because of how shallow it started out.

I loved it. Imagine that. It's definitely a movie that you either loved or hated, no in-between (at least that's what I found when it first came out). I thought it was great that the actors did their own singing, and were actually good at it. I need to change my pic and title though, I had those up while the fiance was overseas. Mushy, I know.
