I think Shaman King wins hands down, but I bet anything worst is too perveted or gory to read anyway.

What good can possibly come from this thread all it's going to do is get the freaks who think all anime is evil active on the board again.generic_mike said:I think Shaman King wins hands down, but I bet anything worst is too perveted or gory to read anyway.
Yeah that sounds very blashphemous I will agree with you on that. Most people on this board aren't aware of how bad manga and probably the tv show was in it's orginal form they just saw americanized version that was aired on network tv. There was one called Mouse Animated Lust at walmart it had a girl that couldn't have been more than 20 in skimpy french maid outfit don't that it was techincally "blashphemous" but based off the cover it was perv anime films which still makes it evil and close enough I figure.generic_mike said:I distinctly remember in the comic book someone said that buddha and Jesus were shamans. And later on I say a buch of other characters that blacken Christian heritage. But I never said all manga was evil, just the ones with the nun fetishes and vampires and...
Your right that they probably aren't trying to intentionaly offend us I read somewhere that about 10% of there population is Christian which means the people making the anime wouldn't probably understand our beliefs. Also there may be another reason they probably didn't even think about whether or not they would offend christians since in many cases the anime and manga if it was orginally created before it became really popular over here in the US at least stuff aimed at adults.marciadietrich said:I can't imagine most anime or manga is purposely blasphemous in a way that an American show such as SouthPark might be blasphemous. It seems there is a greater likelihood of just trying to integrate something Christian in and not understanding exactly what and why we believe. I haven't seen or read Shaman King so can't specificially comment on it.

Avarice and Monari if you don't likele reading post about different things Christian find blasphemous then here are two suggestion one don't enter threads that have the blasphemous or better yet why if you have a problem with Christians expressing opinions about things that they consider strong offensive against there faith go to secular forum this is after all a Christian forum.

Actually they the do that with alot of religions including the main ones in Japan, the reason that Christianity is chosen is often times to give the show an edge especially if it falls in the same genre as a franchise like DBZ or Mobile Suite Gundam.MagnusJ said:I pretty much agree
I think it's just popular sometimes in japanese culture to mix in some christian symbols or themes to add to the atmosphere and make the story seem deeper. Some suggestives names and bible qoutes with no real intentions behind it is a great way to make things seem complex and apocalyptic.
