On what do you base "Not a Christian"? He believes he is a Christian. He believes he is doing his God's work.He admitted as much. In April of 1995 he sent a letter to the NYT promising to "desist from terrorism" if they would publish his Manifesto.
If he believed he was from Mars would that make him a Martian? On what do you base "Not a Christian"? He believes he is a Christian. He believes he is doing his God's work.
His trailer with a cross on it. He considers himself to be a Christian doing god's work to stop the murder of babies.
If you think this man should be able to use a "loon" defense, then you have to allow Muslim terrorists to use that same defense. Is that what you want to believe, anyone who kills in God's name is just a loon?
Oh I highly doubt that the loonie defense will work but that doesn't mean he isn't and that doesn't mean ALL people who claim to be a follower of Christ and do bad things are mentally ill.His trailer with a cross on it. So, by your profound logic, Muslim Terrorists are neither Muslims nor Terrorists. If he believed he was from Mars would that make him a Martian?
Yet, in this Country, there is such a thing as "legally insane". As far as I know, people who are adjudicated "legally insane" cannot receive the death penalty. You seem to be conflicted.I think anyone who commits mass murder must be nuts, or possessed, or whatever....but not normal. I'm not saying they should get away from a death sentence because of it though
It's a pretty good indicator. Why would a non-christian put a cross on his house? And putting a cross on your house doesn't make one a Christian.
I wouldn't know what Fox reports, I don't watch it, in fact I don't watch any cable news stations. They have been doing this all along but Faux News doesn't listen. Just google Muslim condemnations of terrorism and see how many hits you get.
Or that ISIS is Islamic and peace loving people who identify as Muslim are not really Islamic.By that logic one should dismiss any notion that ISIS is Islamic.

Which group, would you say, is more Muhammad-like? Whichever group that is can you give me examples of how they are Muhammad-like?
Well said.OK, I don't know why this is so hard to understand, but I'll try once more. The Bible is clear that not all that think they deserve heaven because they believe they are a Christian will make it there. Jesus will say to them, "I never knew you." As I stated before, you know a tree by its fruit. Dear, the AOG, etc., do not emulate the teachings of Jesus.
Therefore I think it is a safe assumption that just because they say they are Christian, put a cross on their house, carry a Bible, whatever.... does NOT mean they are. Christ did not instruct his followers to commit violent acts against innocent people. I don't know how else to say it.
Muhammad himself did commit violent acts and lead an army to conquer and destroy. Why would his followers not think that they should do the same? And neither did Muhammad.
I never said that. Please tell me in which post I said that? Then what are you basing your assertions that Muslims aren't condemning these acts on?
What is ISIS doing that Muhammad didn't do?But ISIS is about as Islamic as the Taiping Rebellion was Christian.
What matters is not what you think about AOG and people like Dear. What matters is that AOG and people like Dear truly believe that they are doing god's work.OK, I don't know why this is so hard to understand, but I'll try once more. The Crusaders believed that they were doing god's work.Christ did not instruct his followers to commit violent acts against innocent people. I don't know how else to say it.
You take that out of context. Jesus knew what it was that the rich young man loved most, and what he needed to free himself of to be a better man....money and possesions. In other words, we as Christians need to seek out that which holds us back from better serving Christ, and forsake that burden, whatever it may be. In this man's case it was his riches. Not necessarily an easy task, but one that will ultimately make us even richer in blessings.
My interpretation is that there are a myriad of interpretations of every verse in the bible, and there are people who deeply believe them. The same goes for people interpreting the Quran. You interpret the Quran to mean one thing, while the vast majority of Muslims say you are wrong. Can you expound? Can you tell the whole story of what Jesus said and WHY He told THIS young man to sell his possessions?
What is your interpretation of this event?
