Luke 7
37 And there was a woman in the city who was a sinner; and when she learned that He was reclining at the table in the Pharisee's house, she brought an alabaster vial of perfume, 38 and standing behind Him at His feet, weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears, and kept wiping them with the hair of her head, and kissing His feet and anointing them with the perfume.
Point: Sacrifice, and extravagance
Tie together: After we have turned to Jesus with our sin He covers us with His blood and gives us a new heart, mind, and soul. Our heart overflows with love for a savior who gave us His everything. So, we pour out our hearts like the woman in Luke 7 poured out the jar of perfume on Jesus feet.
4352 Proskuneo: Meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master's hand); to fawn or crouch to, i.e. (literally or figuratively) prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore)
to God and Christ
o 'The Greek word denotes an act of reverence,
Leviticus 26:2 you shall keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary; I am the LORD.
Point: Obedience, respect
Tie together: Respect of God is so crucial.
----RESPECT----
1) To turn the eyes away from other things and fix them on some one thing

To turn the eyes upon, to look upon, gaze upon

Respect is much like repentance in that it is an acknowledging and turning toward something
Homage rendered to God
o "to revere," stressing the feeling of awe or devotion to God,
 "to honor religiously,"
 "to serve, to render religious service
o "(who) worship (by the Spirit of God),"
o "(which) worship (God in the spirit);"
 "to serve"
o "(the) worshipers"

1 Chronicles 29:20
Then David said to all the assembly, "Now bless the LORD your God." And all the assembly blessed the LORD; the God of their fathers, and bowed low and did homage to the LORD and to the king.

Tie together: Lavishly pouring out our hearts to God is an act of remembering who he is acknowledging his kingship and giving Him the glory he deserves
Ecclesiastes 5
1 Guard your steps as you go to the house of God and draw near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools; for they do not know they are doing evil. 2 Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God. For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore let your words be few.

Tie together: As a sign of respect for someone speaking you remain quiet and so it is in Gods house. God is the awesome and glorious creator of the universe and we as His creation need to remember that.
