Moranite Christians

Hi folks!


I war told to ask my question in this forum if I am wrong please point me in the right direction. But I was wanting to know more information about Moranite Christians and their history.

I read that they are Easter Rite Catholics. I am curious about this group of Christians because they have come to my attention in reading about Middle Eastern history.

The Maronite Catholics:
The Antiochene Syriac Maronite Catholic Church-a part of the Catholic Church.This is a church of Syriac(Aramaic)tradition-the oldest Christian tradition-Western Syriac Rite,using Western Syriac language.This is the only Syriac church fully in union with Rome.The Church uses Syriac liturgy,but in theology is very Latinized.But I think the spirit of Syriac Christianity is good preserved.They are aware of the whole,wonderful and very ancient heritage of Syriac theology. The Church was originally a community gathered around the monk Maron in the early 5th century in the Western Syria.
The Maronites live in Lebanon(stronghold-Pariarchat in Bkerke-the Patriarch Mor Nasrallah Boutros Cardinal Sfeir Patriarch of Antoich and the Whole Levant),Syria,Cyprus,Brazil,USA,Argentina,USA(many milions).
The most famous Maronites or persons
of Maronite descent :Shakira,Salma Hayek,Ralph Nader,Paul Anka,Gibran Khalil Gibran

yes indeed it will - as will attendance at the Divine Liturgy in any Eastern Catholic Church
