  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A man's personal life displays his character, and character certainly matters when an office wields as much power as that of the President of the United States.

Someone with "legal standing," that is, someone who has actually personally been wronged must file suit against the government or another individual in a lower court. Depending on previous court precedent, the facts of that particular case, how that case weighs upon the understanding of current law and constitutionality, it may be tended by lower courts to higher courts until one court has sufficiently answered any remaining questions of constitutionality.

Notre Dame did a study of the efficacy of various measures taken to reduce abortion an discovered that measures that prevented unwanted pregnancies, offered pregnant women ways to mitigate the difficulties of pregnancy and motherhood, or provided for easier and less expensive adoptions have been far more effective in reducing abortion than criminalization.

One of the researchers, who also happens to be a priest, pointed out, "Methods rooted in love are much more effective than criminalization."

Well I am "on the left", live in the Southwest, am not rich, and disagree with you 110%. Trump has cost jobs by the thousands and given Turkey to Russia to his ally, Putin, on his (Trump's) birthday. He looked the other way when Putin offered bounties to kill Americans and is in part responsible for 225,000+ COVID-19 deaths by his refusal to act on sound medical advice.

My career was in IT and nobody lost their jobs under President Obama. Maybe you're working for the wrong company or don't believe in free enterprise.

Thank God that tomorrow will be the beginning of the end of this incompetent, dishonest man.
