  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What does this say about the moral obligated act to our happiness?

Lets see..his first part...atheists have a hard time defining morality. It seems he simply presented a sad, overly used and bad strawman. Atheists have no problem defining morality. He just seems upset that atheists do not buy into his conceptions of absolute morals. Or more specifically, His particular version of absolute morals.

So far this doesn't sound like anything more than the same spoon fed stuff Christian personality figures feed Christians about atheism. Bad information, straw men, and outright lies. Which is unfortunate because his talk started out well.

You just use Christian principles. No problem there.

Moral absolute is redundant no?

As opposed to the spoon fed offerings of Dawkins, Hitchens and Harris?

C'mon now.

*points to his bookcase*...Sam Harris, author of stuff like The End of Faith, and Letter to a Christian Nation.

Thank you! I thought perhaps Stephen L Harris. Though he isn't an atheitst and therefore wouldn't even fit the arguement.:doh:
