Science can take a hike.
Science doesn't have a monopoly on turning objects, just because someone called it "rotation."
When NASA has an explanation on why the moon and sun are turning black,
Nice try but wrong.
In Genesis 1:4, God created the light and divided it from the darkness
In Genesis 1:14, God places lights in the firmament and divided the day from the night.
So are you telling me god is dividing the light from the darkness twice? You should re-read Genesis 1 again. God is telling us he created the light and divided it from the darkness....the light could be anything and anywhere....it is a "construct". The first day was when this happened...God could've done something else.
Later on, God places lights to divide the day from the night.
I care more about what God says than what science says. God does not say the earth rotates, God does not say a day is 24 hours. That is just your opinion.
It can't be any clearer.
When new "scientific" doctrine is introduced, especially to when the antichrist comes and the mark of the beast is given, both AV and ED will be more than happy to "scientifically" explain why taking the mark of the beast is a good thing.
No, the stars were an addition for mankind to divide the day and the night. You see where God mentioned they are for signs and seasons?
And yes, God says a day is 24 hours with a morning and evening added to the word. It can't be any clearer.
The Egyptians divided the clock into 12 hours of daytime and 12 hours of night-time (or alternatively 10 hours between sunrise and sunset, an hour for each twilight period and 12 hours of darkness). This is known because of various sundials from the period which have been found to be marked with hours. Interestingly this means that hours started out changing in length with the seasons (as the amount of daylight vs. darkness changes).
....
However, hours did not have a fixed length until the Greeks decided they needed such a system for theoretical calculations. Hipparchus proposed dividing the day equally into 24 hours which came to be known as equinoctial hours (because they are based on 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness on the days of the Equinoxes)
I'll bet you do.I just want biblical documentation,
Having It is one thing. You Christians are amusing when you say things like this.
Nope -- he's on a mission. If he is, he's putting an insane amount of effort into it. I thought he was, too, but he's crazy all the way back to the first post.
I'll bet you do.
You just moseyed over here from FSTDT, didn't you?
Right -- and neither do I.I don't even know what FSTDT is.
I repeat, the bible does not mention anything about 24 hours, that is a man made concept.
I repeat, the bible does not mention anything about 24 hours, that is a man made concept. It does not say the earth rotates/revolves. That is a man made concept.
However, hours did not have a fixed length until the Greeks decided they needed such a system for theoretical calculations. Hipparchus proposed dividing the day equally into 24 hours which came to be known as equinoctial hours (because they are based on 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness on the days of the Equinoxes). Ordinary people continued to use the seasonally varying hours for a long time. Only with the advent of mechanical clocks in Europe in the 14th Century, did the system we use today become common place.
Like the Rapture and the Trinity? The 24 hours is a man made concept.
Like the Rapture and the Trinity?
Then your arguments can take a hike. The rapture and trinity are both in the bible,
Then your arguments can take a hike.
