True, but how much light does Earth's atmosphere actually block? In the visible spectrum, that is.

I can't see how that would require the use of a higher ISO film though... Sunny 16 works on the moon just as it does on Earth...

I presume that shadows would be much, much darker.

I'm not aware of all the photos that were taken, so I'm not sure what other factors might apply.

For the benefit of people watching at home: Christianity does not teach flat-earthism. Christians have always known that the Earth was round.

Well one could claim that any educated Christian believed that, but not all Christians were educated. Flat Earthism is due to a literal interpretation of the Bible, just as creationism is. In fact some creationists do not like the Flat Earthers because they seem to sense that the only difference is a matter of how extreme one takes Bible literalism. I should if I can find an article for you on that.

Sure, you can look on the NASA website. The exposure was worked out before they left earth. I’m not quite sure what you mean, either way Earth/moon getting a good exposure is tricky, you have a very large object reflecting a lot of light in a very large spread, the whole business of successfully resolving a clear and well-exposed image onto film of different speeds, keeping the camera rock steady in low gravity, operating it with fat fingered gloves etc. was quite a feat. Read all want about it, knock yourself out. Plenty of info out there you can use to nitpick

True. Without the light scattering in the sky, no light would be getting to the shadows (unless it was light bouncing off something else, such as part of the landscape, or even the astronauts themselves. Such lightless shadows would be pitch black.

Still, even if there was some tiny amount of light reaching these shadows, a high iso wouldn't do much to bring out any detail, not without blowing out the lit parts of the image to complete white.

Sadly not true. People tend to be very difficult to convince to change their minds once they have made them up.

A 21st century Internet forum might not be the best guide on how Christianity worked centuries ago.

And, for a period of more than 2,000 years, up until the "flat earth" movement began in the 1800s, a round Earth was accepted by everybody in the West.

I am sorry, but the Bible only describes the Earth as flat in word and deed. That is only reasonable. At the time that much of it was written a flat Earth belief was common. One has to reinterpret verses to try to excuse this and those arguments always fall flat.

A ‘flat earth belief’ as a description of what people thought at the time is a misnomer, texts translated from contemporary civilisations show little interest in the physical make up of the earth beyond the qualities of certain materials used in manufacture. When it came to the earth, the sun, the stars etc the primary preoccupation was with meaning - not ‘what shape are these things’ but what does it mean, who is in charge, what delineates chaos from order, who has what role and why, and so on. Texts like the Genesis narrative reflect this paradigm, believers and non-believers alike tend to try and reinterpret it using a completely different paradigm, which doesn’t work very well, for obvious reasons.

There have been several going around (a few have been shut down). But not sure if you are aware, i am a biblical flat earther, being that 95 to 99% of my reason is Bible based. Along with what i have been able to personally see, like the moon sun and stars are moving over the earth, etc.. But if you start one post the link and i will look in and see.
