Mono Lake

Hi this is 16x20 acrylic. the color looks more washed out in the photo than IRL. A lot of this was palette knife. This lake is salt water and those weird formations formed under water and were exposed as the water levels dropped. Pray for Ukraine and the Russian Protestors!

Nice texture on the rocks. I was not familiar with the lake previously, or the controversy with the lowering of the water level.

Thanks! We were driving to Yosemite on vacation and the Lake are is near an entrance. There is also a crater volcano right in the region called Panum. We were able to hike the rim. A lot of the rocks on the trail were black obsidian which made it seem like a dragons liar or something. I liked Mono Lake and the crater almost as much as Yosemite. Thanks again!
