On a different note, I heard the following story the other day, about a group of young men who visited Elder Paisios, which shows that monks are just like other normal people, at least on the outset:
Youth: Papouli, papouli (diminutive for elder) we want you to show us a holy man.
Elder: Why not my children? Follow me.
After a few miles of walking they reach this small monastic village and the elder takes them to this monk, who
Youth: What is this elder!!? This is not a holy man. He is smoking and listening to the radio!!!
Elder: O! My children you are so quick to judge. This monk that you see when he was in the world he raped, killed and robbed many people, but he repented and has been on the mountain for 20 years now. He quit doing those things but he kept a few passions or perhaps the Lord did not wish to deliver him from them so as to keep him humble. That is why Im telling you, this is a holy man.

This is so sad. It's very odd seeing or hearing Monks are acting like this. Not very good..
