• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Flaglady is already a mod but must be voted in to continue such with the new CF rules. Dave01 has been nominated by a member with the Pentecostal icon.

To vote, simply type their name followed by : and then either "yes," or "no." We can make the voting something like 5 days, to give everyone the chance to vote, and the votes to be tallied. Or, if no one votes after 2 full days, it can be considered dead and ready to be tallied - this is just my suggestion to keep it organized. You guys need to figure out some voting rules and ratify them for future use.

I am not interested in voting and recommend a rule be ratified quickly so that only Pentecostals with the icon can actually vote, though others can make suggestions.

I'll start a new thread for that since no one else is organizing around here.

I recommend Flaglady to continue as one of your mods, if she is willing. She has displayed a right attitude and helpfulness to all, with a servant heart, which I know personally because I had to deal with her much when I first got here on the forum over rules and the WoF forum issues.

I recommend Dave01 as long as he agrees to follow the new CF way and not strive against it. He shows strong leadership potential, especially if he'll be a servant of all, and leave self out of it. If Dave01 gives his word, I'm sure he'll keep it. If he, or anyone else made a mod, is seen down the road to be a poor mod, though they may be good people in many other capacities, then you can always vote them right back out in light of poor performance, and vote someone else in who is willing to do it.

Serving you in Messiah,

David

This is the current Mod voting rules that Erwin is discussing,..

How staff election works

To apply to be a moderator, a staff member must first receive a nomination from a current staff member (any mod or admin). This is a prerequisite.

They then fill out the moderator application form.

The application gets posted in the relevant category subforum.

The membership votes. At this stage, the whole process of voting needs to be discussed in more detail - who can vote, how long voting period for, etc.

This can be found here,..

I'll look over the proposed ruleset and update where required.

The current mods will be in "office" till the end of 2007. Flaglady isn't a subforum mod. She's either a catagory mod who is over SF and therefore also over Pent, and wof, or she is a super mod over all of CF.

mods will only be over subforums, well, when it all gets set up. Some mods are having to serve over more areas for now.

Hahahaha,....that was funny. ^_^

I'm not that concerned about a mod job really, I'm just putting my talents to work on the ruleset since I already have some experience in word smithing and contracts. For me, it is better to take charge on it than let it set.

Dave, seeing as though I am not on staff, I do not have the authority to nominate you. I will vote for you, but someone else will have to do the nominating part. Sorry, I know I told you I would, but rules are rules.

Oh I'm not worried about that C1, I'm just working on the ruleset. I already have a calling from GOD for certain things outside of CF, so if HE wanted me to mod here HE would tell me so and make a way. I do appreciate the vote of confidence, but I'm not gonna get upset that I'm not a mod here.
