Our God is the God of the Mission Impossible.
Every Christian will at some point in their life face a situation or a circumstance, where by there seems to be no way out.
It appears to be a barrier on all sides. The situation seems to be humanly impossible for a answer to come to deliver us all to fulfil a promise. We grieve and despair at the impossible situation that we seem to be in.
The main problems are that we look at this great barrier with our human reasoning, logic, commonsense and understanding. Because we look at our circumstances with earthly vision and reasoning, we end up either becoming distressed or giving up our ability to use faith, which would be the key to un locking the impossible.
There a many good examples of this in the Bible, and we shall look at three of them.
Luke 1:37. .. For with God nothing shall be impossible ..
Luke 18:27. ...The things which are impossible to man are possible with God ..
Here we see the NT evidence of Gods ability to overcome the impossible.
We need to firmly believe what God is saying. He is able, thats the first FACT and NOTHING Impossible, that is the second FACT.
Satan will try and force us by craftiness, to look at our problems and distresses with our earthly vision and reasoning. We end up saying things like this: If I do it this way, then that will happen. If I go in this direction then that will happen, so there is no way out of this problem, its impossible. Ive used human reasoning and commonsense, and there is no way out .
So we give in to human reasoning and open our selves to sadness and despair, because we can see no way out, no hope.
This is where we need to be transformed from the human view point up to the Faith view point.
Faith says Gods word says, with God nothing is impossible to God,. Well although I can see no way out of this impossible situation, yet I will trust in the Lord because He is able, and He is greater than my problems..
Some people may say that one is burying ones head in the sand and ignoring the obvious facts that there is no way out. But that is not the case, as God delights to see His children trusting in Him when there appears to be no hope.
2 Kings 7:1. Here we read of the account of a great famine in Samaria. The people are trapped in the city and there is no food. The people are desperate, and begin to eat each other! Then Elisha makes an impossible statement. He says that tomorrow a measure of fine wheat will be sold for a shekel ... Human reasoning said, thats impossible, how on earth can that happen, we are surrounded by the enemy. Yet in v18. We read that it was so. God was indeed the God of the impossible. He wonderfully delivered them.
1 Samuel 23: 26-28. Here we read of David, being hunted by King Saul and being cornered. There was no way out, it was impossible.
But David would have cried to God for mercy and deliverance. God wonderfully answered him. Suddenly a messenger came to Saul and said that the Philistines were attacking them. He immediately left the area. What a wonderful deliverance. God was and is the God of the impossible.
Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding .....
Thats how we need to be. We must trust the Lord with all our heart, and not incline unto our own reasoning and logic.
We must firmly believe that God is able. We must let the situation be an opportunity for our God to prove how gracious and kind He is to those who trust in Him and who cry to Him for help.
We need to have blinkers on our eyes when it comes to faith. We must only look right ahead and not at the logical doubt and self reasoning around us.
When the apostle peter walked upon the water, he had his eyes fixed upon Jesus and not human logic or common sense.
After all it was not logical or possible to walk upon water. The Law of physics say NO but the Law of Faith said Yes.
The trouble came when Peter took his eyes off Faith ( Jesus ) and looked at logic. This produced doubt, and doubt produced lack of faith, lack of faith meant failure.
We need to look only at our Lord and trust in His word. We must not entertain or debate with Mr Logic and Mr Reasoning.
Look ahead and only entertain Mr Faith. Keep saying with God all things are possible.
To look to the right or to the left is to doubt. Peter looked to the right & the left and saw the waves, and started to doubt, and this caused fear and unrest.
Our God is Omnipotent ( all powerful ) We must just rest in His ability to prove His greatness and mercy.
He wants to do wonderful things, it is up to us to put Him to the test.
Bless you Take care JOHN
