Swan Song? You are not going anywhere are you? You are one of my favorites here MM :)
That was posted at the end of an exceptionally
long day. I literally put in an 8 hour shift.
Very fruitful. 10 OP's was a new record for me.
The Lord was particularly chatty yesterday, or
were my ears tuned in a little better?
Here's mine, but not time for it yet ;)
Have you read Monsignior Quixote by Graham Green?

I wasn't including this little gem of a post,
but I am amused that of all that went down
yesterday, this one caught your eye.
My thread titles can be catchy, but that often
blows up in my face, when members respond
to the title without reading the OP#1.
Why would they do that?
Have they received the love of the Truth?

This one sounded more personal, and I wasn't on yesterday much; I was just looking at the Isaiah everlasting fire one. It's kind of the culture today, people knee jerk react to the headlines and their heads just fill in the content of the article without reading or discerning often. I still catch myself doing it too. Sometimes I have thoughts but don't share them (hard to believe, I know but it happens ;)

This one has a very personal aside that I will share
before I head out for a walk.
My Soul Is As A Weaned Child
I was ministering at a Rescue Mission, with many
receiving deliverance from everything from heroin
to alcohol. Unfortunately, the Pastor would not require
them to quit smoking, thinking to give some leniency.
So I began to pray for a word that would shake them
to want to quit smoking on their own. That is when
the Lord spoke to me from Psalm 131, and the notion
of being weaned as a child from the suck reflex. He
showed me that chronic smokers, because of the constant
drag and pull of smoking, had actually re-activated the
suck reflex, and hence could not calm themselves.
This is the reason for chain smoking. Not a nicotine
addiction, but an inability to calm and quiet themselves.
I will probably cut and paste this into that thread later,
but I am well pleased to share this testimony with you
personally on this obscure 'secular music' thread.
In closing, is it weird that I still listen to the music
that I listened to in the 70's? By the 80's music
videos ruined music for me, the only artist that
carried over from the 70's was Van Morrison.
By the 90's, I almost exclusively listened to CCM.
Now in my retirement I have re-visited favorites
from that period and they still have the edge that
I enjoyed back then.
Shalom, have a great one, be back later.
James

Thank you!
I smoked for 25 years but quit about a year ago.
I think sometimes (definitely in my case) it can also be tied into a "self-harm" expression
I am still getting used to planning to live longer
Rather than shorter

Nope :) There definitely are some good modern secular ones out there though (though this one is probably 10 yrs+)

On Spotify. They have a new release, simply entitled
"We".
'Wake up': 2004, l like the album title "Funeral".
In just 8 years we have gone from 'wake up',
a scriptural admonition, to 'get woke', a social
awareness mantra.
"Awake to Righteousness, and sin not".
