  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Grok is now the Pentagon’s AI. Grok is owned by Musk who is now pals with Trump again. Musk also has his Starlink service through SpaceX and a Neuralink company looking at the human machine interface. At present chip- chemical interfaces are in the early stages and their most obvious advantage is a medical one. However in the future this technology could have military uses. Mobile data already accounts for 60% of internet traffic, there are a growing number of sensors collecting data from your mobiles. AI uses ten times the energy that old style search methods used but it is also far more effective in profiling users. At the moment in the West the Main motive for that is more effective marketing. In China and Russia the same tech is already being used for control. If they did perfect the chip- human interface then a ubiquitous network like Starlink could theoretically plant nudged suggestions in your mind by remote control.

What can we do to prevent such remote control in the future? Will competition between AI firms help, will human centric legislation like the EU AI Act be crucial? How effective could localised , custom AI be in defending agency from the hidden mechanisms of collection and control?

Get used to it, this is the future and not changing it. Your minds are being controlled right here on earth as we speak. Why worry about space?

Like an express train, get on board or be left behind.

Many will pile into the forward part, because, you know, it is so great to be first with the latest.

Then there are those who choose to sit in the last carriage.

I think we can use technology to defend ourselves and our agency as much as we can use it to destroy those freedoms. The latest chips, with the number of computations per second they can do, fit into a mobile phone and can be the basis for comprehensive defenses against global intrusions and manipulations. Apple and Samsung seem tuned into these privacy concerns. Also I think playing off AIs against each other might be a way forward. At the end of the day we still have the capacity to disconnect and switch off the machine.

Well, as an example, I have a Samsung the reason being because here in Sweden we have what is called Bank ID,

a must to gain access to bank account , tax office and other official constructs.

Personaly I hate it,(the phone) so what is there to be done about it. they are not cheap either.

Mind you, bank buisness, paying bills etc, is easy, a few clicks and done.

I wouldn't get worked up over it because it's the future and thus the reason for data centers. This is the reason many like Bitcoin for its privacy; eventually, the government will know every single penny you spend and where. Look for the CBDC talk.

I, too, don't like being spied on, but as a Christian, I see where the world is heading, and no one can stop God's revelation. This is how I rationalize it.

Don't put a computer chip in your brain.

Democracy = the choice to have a chip in your brain. Dictatorship is the imposition of a chip in your brain. Most behaviorial control speculation surrounds nudge theory right now rather than full on brain interfaces.

Actually, democracy is the power of the people to select the leaders of their government. Chips are irrelevant to the questoin.

This "brain chip" stuff seems to be a paranoid fantasy.
