ah Mike Bickle

I see more misinterpretations of types and shadows from him than anyone else.

What he does is no different that this:

I've listened to a few sermons by Mike Bickle and I thought they were excellent. I don't know everything he has done, but I also think his prayer room idea is great.

From what I have heard (from people who knew more about Mr. Bickle) he had a parting of the ways with the whole KC prophet thing. I've seen a couple of attacks on the harp and bowl idea, some have been from people alledging that it is just another KC prophet thing (which I don't think it is) and I've also seen people who attacked him for abandoning the KC prophet thing. So it would seem he can't win in that regard.

however, the idea of round the clock prayer and worship is not remotely new. In fact, this is probably the first age of Christianity when it hasn't been a normal regular feature.

Going all the way back to the OT, this was a function of priests in the temple, but also up into Christianity many of the desert fathers were moved by this type of idea, and it was also the driving force behind many of the monastic communities.

This is why the practice of "praying the hours" has been a standard Christian practice which was inherited from Judaism.

I've heard him often too. I find a large amount of emotionalism, suppostion, even some undercover judiaising from him. To be fair, I've heard some good things too.

The problem with Mike Bickle and people like him, they take what could be a good idea to them, or even something God is showing them personally and try to export it to the Body of Christ as a whole and it becomes works.

I have been involved in 24 hour prayer. Sometimes it was awesome, sometimes just empty form.

My personal experience with Mike Bickle was favorable and he was not emotional at all. In fact, he was well-controlled and delivered his message without hype and without even raising his voice. He just said what he believed God had him say. It was not eloquent and it was not funny but to the point. I personally was impressed with his style after all the emotionalism I had gone through with another situation. He spoke at Bob Sorje's old church and it was a great time for me to go and visit. He even had a personal word for me, which was exactly what I needed to hear that evening. There is more but I will stop with this personal experience. I have met him on several occasions and of all the people that gets a lot of comments, he is probably the one I will always defend just because I have seen the fruit. :)
