It has been some time since it happened... but I just thought I would share anyway...
I was recently in New Orleans (During Katrina) working through my church in relief efforts. I had gone there for one reason and one reason only, and that was to work and rebuild.
Little did I know that the Lord had a new plan for me. He knew that even though I thought I gave myself to him a few months before... I hadn't given my whole heart to him and that wasn't enough.
After working all day with the people affected, all I wanted was to sleep. I wasn't able to sleep at all... something in my stomach wouldn't let me sleep, I felt sick. It was late that night, when a man I just barely knew walked past me. Hie name was Lance, a traveling pastor of sorts.
When he passed me something in me told me to follow him. I followed him down the hall, and before I could even think about what to say, I blurted out 'can I talk to you?'. And before I knew it was in tears and he witnessed me and I gave my life to God.
I believe that it was God who wouldn't let me sleep that night. I believe he brought me to New Orleans for a reason. He wasn't going to let me rest that night, not until he gave me that chance to come to him. It was God's will, and he got me that night.
October 10th 2005. I became a mighty man of God.
