  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This feels so significant to some of the other people who have posted on here. My heart goes out to all of you.

Well, where to begin

My father recently started up a midweek church in a nearby town centre. It's aimed for those who can't make it to church on Sundays, or those who want to know more about Christ, but dislike the idea of a formal church on Sundays. So far the numbers haven't been great. Around 10 people, some of which are just there to support my dad through his first few weeks. He also needs someone to volunteer to become another 'admin' of such.

So my request for prayer is this:

Please ask the lord to bless this church. To increase the numbers and to make people to come and learn about Jesus and his sacrifice for us. I've already had a couple of ideas planned, such as Leaflet drops in all the houses in my neighbourhood. This should incite some interest.

I also pray that someone would step up to the position to help my dad with this task of establishing this church. It's hard as he has had to run all 3 services by himself thus far.

I also pray that the lord bless the worship 'group' (if you can call it that) of people who work in my dads book store that have volunteered.

The Church has been going for 3 weeks now. Lets pray that it lasts :)

Thankyou
