  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I am excited to see God return to America and for him to set up God loving and God fearing leaders tonight. So I am setting up a thread where we all can come together no matter what party you say you are ooooooooo! But we are all children of Christ and your my brother and sisters.

So all I ask is that a moderator can peek at this and after todays results if they can shut this down.

Thank you and God bless.

I've been keeping an eye on the FiveThirtyEight.com webpage, as they update their projections as the vote comes in. So far, they are calling for a blue wave: their last projection before voting started (and that they started their coverage with, was 5 of 6 chances for Republican's to keep the Senate, and that they would pick up 1 seat. They thought Democrats had a 6 in 7 chance of winning the House, and that they'd pick up 36 seats.

Their most recent projections are a 7 in 8 chance for Republicans to maintain control of the Senate, still picking up 1 seat (though for a while they went to the Senate remaining the same); though they now give Democrats a 14 in 15 chance of controlling the House, picking up 41 seats.

With so many of these races being close, it could be a long night.

Man will try every way to predict but this is in Gods hands.

If that's the case I look forward to wide spread abstention from voting among Christians.

I think we both know that the proclamation of "this is in God's hands" wasn't even uttered among evangelical Trump supporters when Obama was the president during the last mid-term elections or when he was elected for his two terms. It wouldn't be uttered if Trump was a Democrat either.

The goats and I are getting kind of dizzy watching all of the numbers come in.

Might have to switch stations to a Little House on the Prairie for a while.

Come back later and see who the heck won all these races?

The night we turned off the TV when Hillary was leading we came back later to find out Trump was the new president. Wonder if that could work twice?

Things have flipped a bit now. FiveThirtyEight now gives Republicans a greater than 95% chance of keeping the Senate, picking up 4 seats. At the same time, Democrats chance of taking over the house has dropped to almost even (53%) picking up only 24 seats. As I said before, it will be a long night.

Turn off the tube...and see what happens. Aren't the goats hungry?
