  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know that not too many Americans have heard of the Asian TV series known as Meteor Garden. I myself have recently stumbled upon it, and I enjoyed watching it so much that I thought I might tell you all a little bit about it.

It was filmed in Taiwan during the years of 2001-2003. The language that they used is Mandarin but I was able to understand it with English subtitles. I bought the series on DVD over the Internet, and you can too, just make sure you get the right region coding for your country (Region Code 1 for America) and also make sure that the subtitles for the language that you want are included. My plot synopsis is for the following DVD sets: Meteor Garden, Meteor Rain, and Meteor Garden II.

The main characters attend a University in Taipei. The four most popular, rich and handsome guys at the University are very close friends who have grown up together and they are known by everyone as the F4. They have so much power in the school that they can even get a student kicked out of the school if they don't like them. No one would dare stand up to F4, except for one girl named Shancai. She doesn't think that it's fair that they get away with bullying people around, and she tells them off. She even went so far as to punch DaoMing Si in the face. He is the leader of F4. Of course he got angry at her but deep down, her actions made him respect her. He had never seen anyone stand up to him like that before. He eventually began to fall in love with her.

She wasn't sure she wanted to be with the arrogant, pig-headed leader of F4 known as DaoMing Si. But eventually, a change took place. Slowly, she began to see him in a different way as he began acting in a different way. He became kind, compassionate, and caring. They started to date, and then...

He got into a bad car wreck that caused him to lose his memory. He didn't know who he was, much less who Shancai was. He couldn't love her if he didn't know her. Instead, he fell in love with a different girl: a funny and charming girl named Yesha. When he regains his memory, is he going to remember why he was in love with Shancai, or is he going to continue to love Yesha?
