Just curious about what practices and stuff people have in their Messianic worship. I was sort of inspired from the Aliyha thread.
Personally I don't care for the "worship-style" CDs that go around these days. Just a matter of personal taste I think. In services I'm comfortable with just about anything so long as the spirit of the Lord is in it. Though I must admit to being particular enamored of the older Hebrew songs. I'm also a big fan of Davidic dancing and Israeli folk dancing. I'm surprised that dancing before the Lord is so discouraged in non-Messianic congregations.
One thing that discourages me about the only Messianic congregation in the area around me (and why I've never attended it) doesn't allow people to dance or worship with the congregation unless they "do it properly". For me its much more the spirit of the worship that matters and I can't attend a congregation that is so focused on ritual.
There are about as many different styles of worships I think as there are Messianic congregations. A few of my notable experiences are visiting with a Russian Messianic Jewish congregation and worshipping in Hebrew/Russian. Much more somber and solemn (which I can appreciate). Its nice being able to sing Hebrew worship songs with people whom you can't even talk to. We don't speak each other's spoken languages, but we can worship together in one language! I've also met with a small group of Sephardic Messianic Jews and got to hear Ladino worship music, which is definitely very beautiful music
Anyways I'd like to hear everyone else's stories of worshipping our Savior from their Messianic congregation.
