Merry Christmas to all, including, of course, Aussie Pete!
This morning I was reading Genesis 4: 3-7. This is about the offerings to God of Cain and Abel. My David Jeremiah Study Bible's comment on 3,4 reads: " Cain and Abel reflect every person's choice regarding how to approach Almighty God. The shepherd Abel was careful to give on God's terms: he offered his finest, the first born of his flock and...their fat. In contrast, Cain's sacrifice was merely a token, offered on his own casual terms. Cain's gift was not given from a heart devoted to God (Numbers 18:12; Hebrews 11:4)."
I just kept thinking about that this morning, especially the line "Cain's gift was not given from a heart devoted to God." I just kept thinking, "I do not have a heart devoted to God." Then I prayed to Jesus, giving Him my life and heart. What a wonderful Christmas morning!
Now, I know doubt is coming because of my OCD. But now I can really sing my new ditty: "Rock Solid! You hold onto us!"
Now to follow Pete's suggestion and get a copy of "War on the Saints."
