  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

With the first guy, that's horrible. I think it's just ridiculous when guys are insensitive and don't treat women with respect. I'm sorry that that was something you ever even had to deal with...

I didn't get to much choice in this matter....My first marriage was arranged by the elders in the family. My current marriage was "Semi" arranged.

She would have to have a strength in faith, Able to communicate well, be able to have a conversation about God, she must be a Christian. Know her role as a wife. Other than that....no complaints, but I got this in my current marriage. My wife is awesome! She is my queen! And I treat her as such.

And up next in her bid, at her attempt to be courted, to fall in love, and to marry… we have the lovely?... a woman still on her own… smile pretty so we can get a good look at you… that’s right; you heard right, she’s the type of woman who loves God with all her heart. She would home school her children…read them Psalms and the Gospels by oil lamp..help the homeless out of the cold.. stand vigil with others for the lives of yet to be born babies in this country…visit the children in the inner cities... cook, can, sew, hang clothes on the line…and make a home… she’s in her twenties, thirties, or forties…she’s fair to look upon… gentle… serene, how rare... how special is she...she will love her husband dearly her life through..she wants as many children as the Lord would bless her with and fill their home with. She will tell her daughters of Esther who would fast for her people and endanger herself in going up to speak on their behalf… and of Ruth who would leave her homeland for the God of Israel and his people… And Rebekah who would address a man (Abraham’s servant) as my lord (a title of respect like Sir) and have faith to leave her kindred to go marry a man. Where’s such a woman to love and be loved by..for to share those playful romantic, emotional and physical affections and the oft passionate lovemaking…and if she’s of child bearing age, to share our children…Where’s a woman with her long hair worn up or down, in her long skirt or dress…where’s a woman who can inspire me without a sound? She would be accepting of that I am a never married, forty-four-year old, repentant man, a single dad raising my nineteen-year-old daughter and fourteen- year-old son by myself…she would be ok with or like that I am tall, 6 ft 2, 205lb…. she would find me to be handsome enough… if she were in her twenties(ya I know) or thirties she would be ok that I am forty-four-years old, though I am fit(a little weight training) and healthy and still have a full head of drk brown , not yet graying hair-I am in my forties. If she were a younger woman or much younger woman, she would have to be ok with our age differences…she would be understanding that a few years ago I walked away from college, a senior studying mathematics to pursue something meaningful (humanitarian type work) and it will never make me more than but a financially “poor” man, as this culture defines poor.
I saw the following written on a plaque at a hunting and fishing store, “Wanted to marry, a woman with a good hunting dog. Looks don’t matter. Who cares what the dog looks like as long as it can hunt.” …Give me either a woman such as I have written about in the paragraphs above or give me any woman as long as she owns a handsome or not so handsome champion Labrador or Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
