Men and diapers

Do men change dapers?

  • Sure-no big deal-its my kid too.

  • Only if the wife can't do it then.

  • NEVER--that's wimmins work!

  • I try to make myself scarce so I won't have to..

Tecnically I havn't had DH change a cloth diaper yet, but thats cause I want to know how to do it with no leaks so I can teach him, but disposable is no problem. well out of the house more womens bathrooms have the err the thingie to put a baby on, so I do it more when not at home. but then he takes the older ones to pee more :).

When I was pregnant with #3, child #2 was still in diapers, and really fond of eating broccoli and the smell would put me right over the edge and I know I was short with her and not very nice as we changed her yucky diapers. Once I told my husband about it, and he started to change her diapers all the time when he was home. (Prior to that it had been whoever was available...)

That's one of many reasons why I love him so very much!

I am blessed that my wife typically takes on the diapers. I do them when it is not easy for her. If she is on the phone, sleeping, away etc... Now that our youngest is nearly potty trained & we can't have any more children, we are almost done. I love my boys, but have always had difficulties with diapers. There have been a few when I almost got sick on the boy as I was changing it.

I still remember being six years old. I was going to help my mother changes my new brothers diaper for the first time. When she opened it up, I turned my head and threw up all over the carpet. Needless to say, mom didn't ask for my help ever again.

He did it, but he was the type where the diaper had to be really stinky or very obviously wet before he even noticed that a change was needed. He has SUCH a laid-back personality! Not lazy, just kind of oblivious:). I used to get so tired of asking him to help out in that way. I usually just took it upon myself...not always with the best attitude unfortunately.

I don't see what's the big deal. So its a ****** nappy or a wet one. I will admit it does take a bit to get them on correct but after 2 years I reckon I've about got it right and Stephanie never complains and I've never had one fall off. Women could do well to trust their husbands to do it right and as to you men folk get off yer lazy backside and go help the missus! What are you all, wimps?

Oh, and one tip for all you men folk, if it's so bad it's gonna take a whole toilet roll to clean junior up, don't bother. Either take him/her out on back lawn and turn the garden hose on him/her. Don't let the missus see ya do this. They have no sense of humour in such matters. Juniour thinks its fun, mum most certainly does not. If mum is at home take junior to shower and shower him/her.

I did a lot of the work with raising our four children. So I've changed a lot of diapers. Some pointers for the guys.

# 1. Do not check for a dirty diaper by sticking your finger in it. ! ! !

# 2. A changing table is really handy.

# 3. If you get baby powder on the diaper, the tape won't stick anymore. Duct tape makes a good substitute.

# 4. Diaper bags are a really good way to sneak food and drink into movie theaters.

Hubby doesn't mind diapers...he will change them in a flash. He loves to pitch in with everything from baths, diapers, feedings, and playtime when he is at home. He feels he misses out on all those things when he is at work. He doesn't mind helping me out when I ask.

 ok...hubby and I are guilty for #1 on your list...I am not sure when we will ever learn.. ^_^
The timing on hubby's part is a little off on telling when she is wet or dirty. Me on the other hand can smell a dirty diap across the room...no joke. Hubby calls it mommy sense.
