hopefully she's not any denomination - couple days ago she pointed out clearly from Scripture that 'jezebel' is not to be tolerated; don't know if it's available online or not...
p.s. watchman nee showed clearly the same in "the normal christian church life" and "further talks on ... "

okay, I realize this is off-topic, but could someone please explain to me how we got to Jezebel from denomination? She didn't say "demon nation", lol....

Well, of course we shouldn't tolerate a Jezebel spirit when we encounter it. It is a dangerous and insidious spirit that is found in various churches.

But, I digress!

I have never heard of Melissa Scott, but if she said that, she was correct.

HAHA! She is a very pretty lady and I wonder if I would recognize her without the collar. Anyway, the few times I have seen her on television, she inspires me to study, study, study! I enjoy the way she breaks down scripture sometimes examining it in 4 different languages.

I really do not know where to post this since I do not know what denominatin she is.

I see her on TV and for the life of me cannot figure out her accent. Does anyone know where she is from?
She seems to be the widow of Pastor Gene Scott who used to have a televised, oh I don't know what you'd call it, preaching program? Out of all the televangelists I ever saw, Gene was the WORST! He would sit in a chair, smoke a cigar, and repeatedly say "I'm not teaching you a damn thing til you send me some money! Now get on the damn phones." While he was waiting for the money to come rolling in, he'd play videos of horses galloping in a field. It made no sense. But at least he was honest in the sense that he let you know he was after your money and really didn't care all that much about you. This website will give you info on both.

Regardless of how the website describes Pastor Gene Scott, what I saw was in complete contrast to the PR job they're doing on that site. This webpage: http://www.gonsalves.org/favorite/scott/scott.htm talks about the Gene Scott I remember seeing on television.

Was he the guy who wore Catholic priests' vestments and would light his cigar with a lighter shaped like a gun? I remember that guy - one summer I had a ministry, and the family I stayed with had one of those old-school (like, 5-foot-diameter) satellite dishes, and he was on all the time!

BTW, Melissa sounds Irish, IMHO.

Would I get shot if I pointed out that as a woman she has no grounds for taking the title of "pastor" unless she is taking her authority from another, senior pastor? She's a widow, so she can't be covered by her husband, so where's her covering coming from?

I listened to one of her messages for four minutes. She was all over the Bible, quoted or cited at least four verses, tied none of them together logically, talked a mile a minute in what sounded like one continuous sentence, and finally ended by saying "The message of this church will be faith and grace til the day I die, that will be my message," and walked off the ... uh ... "stage" for lack of a better word.

That's great, Melissa, but if that's what you preached, why didn't I understand it? I'm not stupid, I don't think, but that was disjointed, disorganized and discombobulated throughout.

Sorry, I don't see anything that grabs me here, friends.

Doesn't a pastor's covering come from Jesus Christ, Himself?Yes, however, I am sure you are referring to human support we are required to give. In our non-denominational church, our pastors come under a body called MFI, Ministers Fellowship International. They provide cover, which we need to be providing for our shepherds.

If this woman has no covering then she won't last long. She will either fall hard or fizzle.

Actually I was referring to Paul's admonition not to allow a woman authority over men. Now you can shoot me.
