Any MMW fans out there? I've seen them quite a few times in concert and my favorite CDs are Shack-Man, Uninvisible, and Tonic. I'm also a big fan of the album The Word that John Medeski did with Robert Randolph and the North Mississippi All-Stars. An instrumental, jazz/blues/rock/gospel album! The rest of MMW's stuff isn't gospel influenced, but it is still great instrumental, modern/progressive/funk jazz. They even enlisted DJ Logic on turntables on their Combustication album. Great stuff.

MMW is terrific, I dig their albums and their live work; the chemistry and communication between those three musicians is pretty amazing. I haven't heard the album you mentioned, but I'll have to check it out... I think my favorite album of theirs is The Dropper, although Electric Tonic is a close second.

Make that 3 MMW fans :)

I really like MMW. I saw them live 2 summers ago at moe.down in Turin NY. The venue was a mountain with a stage at the bottom (people ski there in the winter). I was sitting halfway up the hill, and it was dark, and at the bottom there were all sorts of dancers with glowsticks, some had them attached to strings and were doing amazing things with them. Back in my clubbing days I used to do stuff like that, and I was happily surprised to see it at a jamband concert!!
My favorite song I have by them is called "C Jam Blues" Its just amazing! I also have their cover of Crosstown Traffic with Charlie Hunter and DJ Logic, and that track absolutely rocks!!
