  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It either needs a background or a subject. Perhaps a transplanted ant would do nicely!

You might also try other insects. For example bumblebees (they tend to be the most docile) can be put to sleep in a baggie with a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol. Then, you can take pictures of them as they wake up!

I used the rubbing alcohol trick in middle school for a bug collection, and it certainly worked on the bees... No promises that you'll stay sting free if you try it with photography though (hehe).

Anyway, I do love the texture. Roses are my favorite! I LOVE giving them to my girlfriend!

Beautiful shot. I don't think it needs a background. Increase the contrast a little - which should increase the color saturation a bit - and frame it as a 10"x10" square image with a wide black mat. Betchya it will look great.

Suggestions:
1. Clean up the little black specks if you can
2. Sharpen it just a bit
3. Try it in b&w, too

oh man, I never knew that about bees!!

/me writes that down to try in the spring

I love catching photos of flowers with bees "inspecting" them, although by the time I get a good focus on them they move on to another flower, so it's totally a gamble. Oh, and the whole stinger issue, haven't had any troubles, but I'm sure once it happens I'll be a bit more cautious ;)
